 Movie Review by Tilak Daga ~ “Kabhi Khushi Kiddie Gham” Is My Favorite Bollywood Movie!



What is Bollywood? Hindi cinema, often known as Bollywood and formerly as Bombay cinema, is the Indian Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai (formerly Bombay). The term is a combination of "Bombay" and "Hollywood".


Kabhi Khushi Kiddie Gham - Our parents are our family. The parents in this movie have two sons. The mother in the movie has two sisters. Rahul, the adoptive son of business magnate Yash Raichand, feels eternal gratitude to his father for rescuing him from a life of poverty. Yet, when Yash forbids his love of poor Anjali, Rahul marries her and moves to London with new wife and sister-in-law, breaking the heart of his mother. Ten years later, Rahul's younger brother comes to London intent on brokering peace between father and son. “Dogo News”

My favorite song is ‘Bole Chudiyan’. I like this song so much because it makes me happy. The costumes that the actors wear are colorful and festive.





I like dancing, and there is lots of dancing to happy and joyful music in this movie. I like to dance because it is my passion to dance, and there is so much dancing in the movie. 


The theme of the movie is that your parents love you so much. The movie shows that we have to be nice to our parents, and not upset the family. But we need to follow our dreams. We need to honor who we are.

    I'm learning so much from these blog postings. Thanks Tilak for introducing me to Bollywood and for telling me of your love for dance. I too danced when I was much younger and miss it, but I still enjoy watching others perform. We have friends from India. They have shared some of their beautiful traditions with us and I agree the costumes are lovely. The theme you write about is a lesson we should all remember. Thanks again for choosing this topic.

At the very end of the movie Michael Jackson sings and dances to a very moving song entitled “There You Will Be.” I was so inspired by this song that I became a Michael Jackson fan for life.
